Explicit ApS, Danish greentech scaleup and pioneer in drone-based emissions monitoring, is strengthening its presence in Norway with the opening of a dedicated office in Stavanger on August 1, 2025. The expansion follows a major contract with Equinor and reflects growing demand for Explicit’s services in the Norwegian energy sector.
To lead the new operations, Explicit is pleased to announce the appointment of Heidi Gåskjenn as Country Manager Norway. With a diverse background spanning the armed forces, offshore helicopter operations, and drone-based environmental monitoring, Heidi brings a unique blend of operational, technical, and leadership experience to this important new role.

“I’m excited to join such a knowledgeable and international team, and to channel our collective energy into advancing green technology. Norway is a fast-moving market with high expectations, and I look forward to positioning Explicit as the go-to provider for drone-based environmental emissions data and insights.”

Establishing local presence to support growing demand
The new Stavanger office will support ongoing projects and further growth across the Norwegian continental shelf. Stavanger is the company’s fourth international location, joining offices in Denmark (HQ), Germany, and Australia.
“Opening an office in Norway is a big milestone for us—and a natural one. We've been working closely with Norwegian clients for years, and it makes sense to be present locally to support them even better. With Heidi leading the way and building a strong team on the ground, we’re strengthening our Nordic collaboration and setting ourselves up for the next phase of growth.”

A unique career path meets a unique mission
Explicit’s new Country Manager brings a non-conventional, hands-on career path to the role, shaped by years in elite military service, flying helicopters offshore, and managing complex drone operations. After sustaining a back injury that grounded her piloting career, Heidi transitioned into management roles, including leading the operations center at a major helicopter operator and overseeing transformation projects.
She first encountered Explicit during a European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) project in 2019, while she was working with Nordic Unmanned:
“From the very beginning, the Explicit team came across as reliable, highly professional, and just easy to work with. We tackled complex challenges together - and had fun while doing it. When they reached out about this role, it felt like the right fit at the right time.”

Supporting Norway’s energy transition
The office opening underscores Explicit’s commitment to helping industrial operators navigate the evolving regulatory landscape and improve their environmental performance. Norway’s combination of a strong oil and gas legacy and increasing green ambitions makes it a natural next step for the company’s expansion.
“This is about more than scaling operations—it’s about making a measurable difference. We provide data that helps companies quantify emissions and act on them. That’s essential in a world where climate accountability matters more than ever.”
